Earborne turns articles and documents you choose into audio, read word for word. This page explains what Earborne keeps, why, where it lives, and how to remove it. Earborne is run by Yogesh Patil. If you have a question, email yogeshpatil8433@gmail.com.
What Earborne keeps
- Your account: your email address and a display name. If you sign in with Google, also the name and profile picture Google shares. Earborne also keeps your sign-in sessions, including the IP address and browser each one came from, so you can stay signed in.
- Access requests: if you ask to join, your email address and name, and your Google profile picture if you used Google, so the owner can review the request.
- What you add: the links, files, pasted text and pages you send, the text extracted from them, any edits you make, and the audio and word timings made from them.
- Settings and listening: your voice, speed, word highlighting, time zone, and where you stopped listening.
- Usage counts: how many episodes and characters you make each day, to apply daily limits.
- Logs: technical records of errors and jobs. They identify episodes by ID and websites by name. They don’t contain the text you add.
How it’s used
Only to run Earborne for you: to sign you in, make and play your episodes, apply limits, and fix problems. Earborne doesn’t sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking.
Who else handles it
- Microsoft Azure hosts Earborne. Your account, library and files are stored in Azure’s Central India region. The text of each episode is sent to Azure AI Speech in the United States (East US) to make the audio. Sign-in emails are sent with Azure Communication Services.
- Google, only if you choose “Continue with Google”. Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with Earborne.
- The Internet Archive (archive.org). When a website blocks Earborne, Earborne sends the page’s address to the Internet Archive to find a saved copy. It never sends your files, your text, or your account details.
How long it’s kept
- Access requests: until reviewed. Declined and approved requests are deleted 30 days after the decision.
- Uploaded files: deleted 7 days after upload. The text and audio made from them stay in your library.
- Episodes: until you delete them. You can delete one episode, or all of them in Settings.
- Voice cache: short pieces of generated audio are kept for up to 90 days, so text that hasn’t changed isn’t voiced again.
- Logs: 30 days. Database backups: 7 days.
- Your account: until you ask for it to be deleted. Email yogeshpatil8433@gmail.com and your account and everything in it will be deleted.
Cookies and storage
Earborne uses cookies only to keep you signed in, and for a few minutes after you ask to join, to show which address asked. Your browser also remembers the last episode you played, so the player can pick up where you left off. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. Your files are stored privately, links to audio expire after a short time, and each part of Earborne can reach only what it needs.
Your choices
You can read, edit and delete your episodes in the app. To get a copy of your data, correct your account details, or delete your account, email yogeshpatil8433@gmail.com.
Children
Earborne isn’t meant for children under 13.
